Fixed Income Securities
MVS facilitates secondary-market Treasury bill and Treasury bond transactions between eligible institutional counterparties in Sri Lanka.
- What It Is
- The secondary market for fixed-income securities enables eligible financial institutions to buy and sell debt instruments after their initial issuance. In Sri Lanka, this market includes Treasury bills, which are short-term instruments, and Treasury bonds, which are medium- to long-term instruments issued by the Government of Sri Lanka through the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. The secondary market supports liquidity, price discovery and the efficient transfer of these securities between institutional investors.
- How We Facilitate Transactions
- MVS Money Brokers Limited acts as an independent intermediary in secondary-market transactions involving Treasury bills and Treasury bonds. Our fixed-income dealing team gathers and communicates bids and offers, identifies suitable counterparties and brings institutional buyers and sellers together on mutually acceptable terms. By supporting timely and orderly price discovery, we help facilitate transactions efficiently while maintaining strict confidentiality throughout the process. MVS does not trade as principal. Our role is to provide market connectivity and execution support between eligible counterparties.
- Who We Serve
- Licensed commercial banks, licensed specialised banks, primary dealers and other eligible financial institutions participating in Sri Lanka’s secondary market.
- Why MVS
- Fixed-income markets require informed judgement, accurate communication and reliable counterparty access. MVS combines an experienced fixed-income dealing team with broad institutional relationships and strong awareness of current conditions. This enables us to identify potential trading opportunities promptly and support counterparties in executing Treasury bill and Treasury bond transactions efficiently, discreetly and with confidence.
